B-2 Spirit (Stealth Bomber)
The Northrob Grumman B-2 Spirit is big, invisible and expensive. It's distinctive for is immediately recognizable as "The Stealth Bomber".
Originally created as a cold war weapons delivery system, the program was cut from an original 165 aircraft to 21, one of which
was destroyed in an accident in 2008 leaving only 20 in service.
This has been my most complex model so far... yes more complex than the Space Shuttle. (I've been asked that a few times.)
Getting the angles right was difficult, but fun. I ended up sandwiching the "wing layer" between two layers and fastening them together
with technics. That makes the overall infrastruction of the plane very sturdy, although it's large enough to be unwieldy and
fragile in other ways.
In the images, I created 80 500 pound bombs for it, but they're not included in the instructions or the set.
